Timothy Makubuya, Ph.D., is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Coordinator for Physical Education in the College of Education. He completed his Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Teaching and Learning Processes from University of Missouri-St. Louis. His dissertation focused on health risk behaviors and child obesity. He holds a M.S in Sport Management and a B.S. in Sports Medicine from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis. Prior to moving to the U.S., he completed a B.A. in Environmental Management from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. Dr. Makubuya is a former primary and secondary school social studies and mathematics teacher in Uganda. He enjoys connecting with nature through a variety of outdoor recreational activities. In his spare time, he coordinates the Healthy Kids Running Series in St. Louis. Dr. Makubuya is interested in various aspects of heritage exploration that promote the equitable and sustainable use of our natural resources.
