My name is J.C. Romero, and I am the deputy head of school at Crescent International School in Bangkok, Thailand. I received my A.G.S. degree in English from Delgado Community College, my B.A. in sociology from Northwestern State University, and my M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction from Northeastern University. My research interests focus on looking at education as an institution for socialization, as well as analyzing the roles that culture, race, racism, and privilege play in American schooling (particularly when it comes the lived experiences of Latino students). While this isn't the "traditional" route, I would like to use my EdD degree to teach college courses that are focused around my research interests. The specialization that this program offers will undoubtedly get me there!
