My name is Amber Hurd and I am ecstatic about all the exciting things happening in my life this coming year. I am beginning my 13th year as a secondary English teacher. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa but relocated in 1995 to Edwardsville, Illinois. I received a Bachelor's in English from Greenville College, a Masters in Education from Columbia College in Columbia, SC, and a Masters in Counseling from Missouri Baptist University. I taught my first six years in South Carolina before returning to Edwardsville and teaching at my alma mater. I have found a home now at St. Louis College Prep High School where I served last year as Humanities Instructional Coach. This year I will teach all sophomore English classes and began my transition into the role of College & Career Counselor for the school. Our mission is that all of our students get to AND through college. I am elated to have the opportunity to help them do just that through our Early College Program. In the midst of all that, I am eager to learn so much from all of you during our journey together!
